We know that Sony has been working on refreshed PlayStation 5 models for some time now. While there have been leaks about the affordable PS5 Slim before, new information has been shared about the PS5 Pro console. The console, which will support 8K resolution, will be released in November 2024.
Is the PS5 Pro set to release in November 2024?
According to new rumors, Sony is working on an upgraded PlayStation 5, codenamed ‘Trinity’. It’s rumored to be called the PlayStation 5 Pro, although the name is unclear for now. It will reportedly be officially announced in November next year.
The codename Trinity actually seems pretty consistent. We know that Sony prefers Matrix-themed names like “Neo” for the PS4 Pro and “Morpheus” for the PlayStation VR. That’s why the codename Trinity may have been given to the new PlayStation model.
According to sources, Trinity has been in development since early 2022. Demo testing for the PS5 Pro is already underway, and most developers will receive Trinity kits later this year.
The PlayStation 5 Pro will also be in the spotlight for its specs. The console is rumored to offer 60 FPS at 4K resolution and an 8K performance mode. Sony is also said to be aiming for real-time ray tracing support.
Sources have also indicated that Trinity will be the last model in the PlayStation 5 series and that the series will end in 2024. While there are no new claims about the PS5 Slim, we can assume that it could arrive as early as November 2024.
It’s worth noting that Sony has not yet confirmed that it is working on a new PlayStation 5 model. More rumors about an affordable or more powerful console will emerge until next year.
