AMD is postponing the launch of its highly anticipated Ryzen 9000 series processors. Due to a problem detected in the first batch of processors, AMD has moved the launch date to August. The company announced the reason for this decision and the new launch dates.

When AMD shipped the first batch of Ryzen 9000 series processors to its channel partners, it realized that these processors did not fully meet quality expectations. To ensure the highest quality experience for all Ryzen users, the company decided to recall these processors and put them through more rigorous testing. After these additional tests and scans, the processors will be reshipped, AMD said.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 9600X and 9700X processors will be available on August 8, while the Ryzen 9900X and 9950X processors will be available on August 15. Matthew Hurwitz, director of public relations at AMD, declined to elaborate on what the problem was, but said that additional screening procedures were being implemented. The first batch of processors will be sent back to channel partners after being recalled and rescanned.

The Ryzen 9000 series is a direct successor to the Ryzen 7000 series and is the second generation of chips using the AM5 processor socket. This new series can be easily integrated into existing AM5 motherboards with a BIOS update.
