Samsung’s Galaxy AI, introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, offers users various AI-supported tools that have been widely appreciated for simplifying tasks. However, recent announcements from Samsung suggest that Galaxy AI might become a paid service in the near future.
When will Galaxy AI become paid?
According to a recent press release from Samsung, Galaxy AI features, including summarizing web pages, real-time text and voice translation, and photo editing—useful in daily life—are currently free until the end of 2025. The press release implies that starting from 2026, Samsung may begin charging for the use of Galaxy AI.
The announcement also mentions seven Galaxy Experience Spaces opened worldwide, with footnotes stating that “Galaxy AI features will be free on supported Samsung Galaxy devices until the end of 2025,” reinforcing the possibility of a paid model thereafter.
In the market, major GenAI chatbots and virtual assistants (such as Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT) initially offered free services but later introduced paid versions with more advanced features (Gemini Advanced, Copilot Plus, ChatGPT Plus).
Regarding Galaxy AI, there is uncertainty whether a premium model will be introduced or if even the basic version will become paid.
