Samsung is trying to stay at the top of the Android smartphone manufacturers with its improvements. While the company keeps updating its devices with new technologies, it is also releasing new announcements about the coming features. According to Samsung’s announcement, the brand is developing a fingerprint scanner to make it 2,500,000,000 times more secure. Here are the details about Samsung’s fingerprint scanner improvement.
Samsung’s fingerprint scanner will be 2.5B times more secure
The tech giant has already announced that the technology, known as All-in-One sensing, will be available in its OLED 2.0 next-generation panels. Samsung will bring the feature to read multiple fingerprints simultaneously through their OLED display to Galaxy devices. Additionally, it is expected the use of three fingerprints to verify a user’s identity could be 2.5×10^9 (or 2,500,000,000) more secure than the recent single fingerprint. According to the rumors, the feature will be active on the entire screen to scan three fingers at one time.
Although there is no official date for the announced technology, ISORG announces that its OPD (Organic Photo Diode) multi-fingerprint scanning technology is ready to use. Also, Samsung will probably use similar materials and processes for its All-in-One fingerprint scanner for OLED 2.0 as ISORG’s technology.
Dieter May, the CEO of France’s ISORG, expects Samsung to launch new OLED 2.0 panels by 2025. While he doesn’t expect Apple to get into the multiple scanner technology, Samsung could be the first phone company to offer multiple-fingerprint scanning. However, it could be the smartphone industry leader in All-in-One sensing with its technology.
It seems that next-generation Galaxy tablet and phone users will no longer have to worry about their devices’ security thanks to the new technology. They will have access to the multiple-fingerprint scanner on the entire screen.
