According to SamMobile, the standard Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus models will have the same 50MP wide-angle and 12MP selfie cameras as the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus. Let’s take a look at the reasons and details together.
Samsung wants to prioritize software in Galaxy S25
While there is no information yet about the ultra-wide or telephoto lenses of the upcoming phones, it is rumored that Samsung will use the same camera features in the S25 and S25 Plus models as the S24 and S24 Plus.
It is estimated that Samsung will bring the main camera improvements to the Ultra model. It is thought that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with a wide rear camera, as well as a 50 MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and another 50 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Of course Samsung’s standard Galaxy models have never been touted as the best camera phones, but we were hoping that the Galaxy S25 would offer some innovations to the Galaxy S24 in terms of camera hardware.
To reiterate, SamMobile’s report only refers to the Galaxy S25’s wide-angle and front cameras, so we still have a window of time in which information about the phone’s ultra-wide and telephoto lenses could leak.
In fact, the Galaxy S25 lineup isn’t expected to launch until January 2025, which means a lot could (and certainly will) change between now and then.
But it’s thought that Samsung could add smart new camera software to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus instead of dramatically improved hardware.
