Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra tipped for rare battery and charging upgrade

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung appears to be making a late yet meaningful change to its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. A fresh leak claims the company is preparing to bump both battery size and wired charging speed something it hasn’t done on its Ultra line since 2020.

Ever since the Galaxy S20 Ultra launched with a 5,000 mAh battery, Samsung has refused to budge on capacity across five generations. That trend might finally break with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a post by Weibo leaker Instant Digital, Samsung plans to equip the device with a 5,200 mAh battery a modest but notable 4% increase.

It’s not a jaw-dropping leap, but for a company known for playing it safe with battery specs, even this small gain is rare. For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra also kept the same 5,000 mAh capacity, despite improvements in efficiency.

RedMagic 11 Air leak reveals battery boost and big performance gains

The RedMagic 11 Air surfaces early with a 7,000 mAh battery, Dimensity 9500 chip, and up to 24 GB RAM packing upgrades into a slimmer frame.

Battery life isn’t the only area Samsung may be tweaking. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is now rumored to support 60 W wired charging up from the current 45 W limit that’s remained unchanged since the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

There’s a catch, though. Samsung stopped shipping chargers in-box starting with the S21 lineup, so buyers may need to invest in a compatible 60 W brick to take full advantage of the speed boost.

Here’s what the Galaxy S26 Ultra could bring based on the latest leak:

The Galaxy S Ultra line has grown in camera power and processing muscle, but its battery specs have stood still for half a decade. If Samsung does follow through on this late-stage upgrade, the S26 Ultra could mark the first real shift in battery priorities since the original Ultra landed in 2020.

It’s a small move, but for Ultra fans, it’s one that’s long overdue.
