Samsung’s new-generation foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, has come to the fore with a significant leak before its release. The video, shared on a South Korean YouTube channel, offers the first comprehensive images of the device directly comparing it with previous models, revealing both design changes and hardware innovations.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 draws attention with its design
The Z Fold 7 has a significantly thinner structure compared to last year’s Z Fold 6 and the Z Fold SE, which was only available in some regions. The device is only 4.5 mm thick when opened, and remains under the 10 mm limit even when folded.
These dimensions make the device one of the thinnest foldable models ever developed. The thinness increases the grip and portability of the device, improving the user experience.
There is also a significant change in the screen size. Compared to the 6.3-inch outer screen of the Z Fold 6, the outer screen of the Z Fold 7 is larger. Offering more standard proportions in terms of format, this new outer screen offers an experience closer to traditional smartphone use with the foldable form factor.
The leaked images of the new model show that Samsung has made progress not only in terms of thinness but also in terms of aesthetics and ergonomics in design. It is seen that the hinge structure of the device has been renewed and can be closed with less gaps. This both increases resistance to dust and creates a more compact profile.
On the hardware side, it is clear that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is positioned at the flagship level. The device, which is stated to come with a 200-megapixel main camera, includes Qualcomm’s highest-level mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This processor offers an architecture developed for high-performance graphics and advanced artificial intelligence-supported functions.
The Unpacked event, where Samsung will introduce its new generation foldable devices, will be held on July 9. So what do you think about this device? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
