Samsung is rethinking its foldable devices strategy. A while ago, it was rumored to be working on an affordable foldable phone. In this context, a model such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE was expected to be introduced. However, the company may have abandoned this plan.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE left for another spring
Samsung initially planned to launch two models. It was rumored that the affordable Z Fold 6 FE would be introduced alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6. According to a new report emerging in Korea, Samsung has canceled plans to launch the cheaper version of the Z Fold 6.
The cheaper model will reportedly not include S Pen support. It was also stated that it received IPX8 waterproof certification and can be folded 200 thousand times. However, it was said to be no thinner than the foldable devices of its Chinese competitors.
This has led the company to rethink its plans for the affordable model. Considering the uncertain market conditions, Samsung has decided to postpone the Fold 6 FE. Only standard models will be released this year.
Samsung is expected to try again next year with the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7. As foldable devices from brands like Honor and vivo are becoming increasingly popular, Samsung needs to lower prices.
On the other hand, the Z Fold 6 is expected to have a triple camera consisting of 50 Megapixel 1/1.56-inch ISOCELL GN3 wide-angle, 10 Megapixel 1/3.94-inch telephoto with 3x zoom and 12 Megapixel 1/3.06-inch ultra-wide-angle sensors. On the front, we will be greeted with a 10 Megapixel 1/3-inch perforated selfie camera and a 16 Megapixel 1/3″ under-screen selfie camera.
