Samsung has resolved the issue with its Smart TVs

Ana sayfa / News

A global issue involving apps not opening on Samsung smart TVs has been resolved. Users reported encountering “error 202” when trying to open popular apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video. This inability to access apps, despite appearing on the screen, has drawn attention as a problem experienced by many users simultaneously.

This error typically indicates network connectivity issues. However, users reported no interruptions or slow internet connections. This strengthened the suspicion that the error was caused by a system malfunction directly at Samsung’s end, not the TVs or service providers.

Factory resetting the TVs far from resolving the problem, in some cases exacerbated it. Users who performed this procedure reported being unable to redownload any apps on their devices and that the apps were completely disabled because the service terms had not been installed.

After the issue was discovered, Samsung support contacted individual users to inform them that they were aware of the error and that their engineering teams were working on a solution. The company did not provide any technical details regarding the technical cause of the error or the resolution process. No specific timeframe was provided for the resolution of the issue.

As a temporary workaround, some users reported that by holding down the power button on their television remote for a long time—that is, by completely turning the device off and then on again—apps would start working. However, this method did not work for every user.

Following the outage, Samsung confirmed that the issue had been resolved on affected televisions worldwide. According to the company’s statement, apps now open without issue. The issue was resolved without any further technical details.
