Samsung unveiled the S24 family and its Galaxy AI assistant at the Unpacked event held in recent weeks. However, it was stated that the artificial intelligence assistant will be free until 2025. In a new statement, Samsung’s plans after this date were revealed.
Paid Galaxy AI assistant will be launched in 2025
Samsung Mobile Chief T.M. Roh gave important information about Galaxy AI. He said that the artificial intelligence assistant will be available completely free of charge until 2025. So how will the process work after 2025?
Roh actually stated that Samsung has not yet made a clear decision on how to offer or monetize Galaxy AI from 2025. He said the company will consider various options based on user needs and demand.
“There will be consumers who will be happy to use AI capabilities for free. There may also be customers who want even more powerful AI capabilities and are willing to pay for them,” he said.
He did not neglect to give the message that it could be a subscription-based service like ChatGPT Plus. He said that premium options could be considered paid. However, he stated that it would be better for Samsung to analyze consumer trends and make a decision closer to 2025.
Roh reported that the goal is to bring the virtual assistant to more than 100 million Galaxy devices worldwide by the end of this year. In the first half of 2024, the virtual assistant will be available for S23, S23 FE, Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 in addition to the S24 series.
