Samsung is bringing its new technology to vehicles

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung has launched a new feature called “Home to Car” for its smart home platform, SmartThings. This feature allows users to check the status of their vehicles and manage various functions through the app.

Samsung announced a partnership with Hyundai Motor Group earlier this year to offer this new feature. With Home to Car, SmartThings users gain control over basic vehicle functions such as climate control settings, door locks, and engine start.

The feature also allows for setting automatic routines. These routines can, for example, have the car start and the air conditioning turn on automatically when the smart home door is locked.

Samsung will initially offer this new feature to users in South Korea and then expand it to other countries. Because Home to Car is a collaboration between Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group, it will work with select Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.

In conjunction with Home to Car, Samsung is also introducing a feature called SmartThings Safe. SmartThings Safe allows you to send your GPS location and request for help to pre-determined contacts with a single tap in an emergency.

The designated contacts can see the help request from all SmartThings-enabled devices. These new features expand the SmartThings platform’s reach from smart homes to mobility. What are your thoughts on these technologies? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
