Samsung’s triple-foldable phone appeared in a certification database in China. Registered with the model number SM-F9680, the device shows that the brand will add a new model to its foldable phone lineup.
Samsung will come with a phone that folds three times
The new model stands out with its three-fold design. Until now, Samsung has produced phones that fold twice with its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. This time, it seems the company is moving to a more complex and versatile structure with a three-part design.
While it’s uncertain how this design will reflect on daily use and affect user experience, technical details suggest the device may have some limitations in certain areas. Certification records list the device as a 5G-supported digital mobile phone.
However, the most notable detail is that the device is paired with the EP-TA800 model 25W charging adapter. This indicates the new model will come with wired fast charging support of up to only 25W.
Similar charging specs were seen in some of Samsung’s previous models. However, staying at this level might disappoint users expecting high performance from a device with three screens and heavier hardware load.
