In the Galaxy Unpacked event held in recent weeks, Samsung announced the next generation of smartphones and technologies it will launch in the near future. Interesting developments are on the horizon for Samsung. TM Roh, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Mobile World, stated that Samsung is developing devices that are unlike any of its current phones.
Samsung sets its sights on the future
In an exclusive interview with the Australian Financial Review, TM Roh discussed the company’s current and upcoming policies. Roh mentioned that the lion’s share of the company’s R&D department is dedicated to developing AI-supported phones. However, these phones are not the Galaxy S24 series or the Fold and Flip series that might first come to mind.
TM Roh refrained from giving too much information about these new, unprecedented devices. Nevertheless, he said that the devices would include ‘radical’ changes never seen before. Additionally, the Samsung CEO stated that these new smartphones would be much more mobile and portable than the latest releases.
It is unclear whether Samsung is developing a phone that folds three times or a device with a more minimized design that will bring a completely different breath to the market. According to Roh, AI capabilities will form the core of this phone series, and Samsung is investing heavily in this aspect.
What are your predictions about these new generation devices from Samsung? What kind of new generation smartphone do you think the South Korean tech giant is working on? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
