Samsung Galaxy S26 series comes with 65W fast charging
An earlier report suggested that the Galaxy S26 series will feature silicon-carbon anode batteries that offer higher energy density compared to lithium-ion batteries. This upgrade is expected to provide larger battery capacities without increasing the overall size of the devices. It is also expected to lead to significant improvements in battery life.
In addition to this information, it was claimed that the Galaxy S26 series will feature 65W wired fast charging. This means a significant upgrade compared to the 45W charging speed in the Galaxy S25 series.
Although 65W fast charging on the Galaxy S26 falls behind the 100W features seen in some Chinese smartphones, it seems to be a remarkable development for Samsung. Larger battery capacities and faster charging speeds are important for battery life and ease of charging.
Samsung has been relatively slow on fast charging innovations. It maintained 25W charging until the Note 10 series launched 45W fast charging in 2019. However, Samsung made gradual progress with the introduction of 45W fast charging for the Galaxy S22 series, which launched in 2022.
In addition to battery and charging upgrades, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
