Samsung is testing One UI 8 on its three-year-old phone!

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Samsung, which experienced significant delays with the One UI 7 update, seems to be tightening its schedule for the upcoming One UI 8. The latest information reveals that the South Korean brand is testing the new version on a smartphone it released three years ago.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra, bearing the model number SM-S908U, has appeared on Geekbench. The smartphone scored 1,581 in single-core and 3,680 in multi-core tests. The most notable detail here is that the device tested is running the Android 16-based One UI 8 update.

This development indicates that the company has started internal testing for the smartphone and is applying final touches ahead of the public beta process expected to begin in June.

Samsung is reportedly planning a different strategy this year, aiming to release the update first on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 models rather than its flagship Galaxy S series. If everything goes according to plan, the stable version will begin rolling out after the launch of these foldable phones in July.
