Samsung Keyboard has quietly removed third-party extensions such as YouTube and Spotify, which were favorites of many Samsung Galaxy phone users. To the surprise and disappointment of users, this event was also removed silently for some reason.
Why is Samsung Keyboard removing YouTube and Spotify extensions?
The Spotify extension offered the ability to search and share links to songs, albums or playlists to make it easier for users to share music. Similarly, the YouTube extension allowed users to search and share videos. The removal of these extensions will require users to take extra steps when sharing music and videos.
According to one theory, the YouTube extension had the potential to bypass age and video content restrictions. Therefore, it is thought that Samsung may have removed this feature due to security issues. However, there has been no official and clear explanation as to why the extensions were removed.
Samsung users have expressed their disappointment with the removal of third-party extensions on various platforms. Especially the removal of Grammarly is considered a big loss for users looking for spelling and grammar support. These extensions were one of the important features that distinguished Samsung Keyboard from other keyboard apps.
The real reasons behind Samsung’s decision are still unclear. Users hope that these features will be brought back or better alternatives will be offered in the future. Samsung is expected to make an official statement on this issue.
