Samsung brings new upgrades to its existing devices. Today, the tech giant launched the 4TB version of the T7 Shield SSD. The portable SSD was launched eight months ago, and then, Samsung launched 1TB and 2TB storage options. However, the brand expanded the options and launched the 4TB version of the T7 Shield portable SSD in Germany.
T7 Shield is available in three options
Samsung launches the T7 Shield portable SSD with a credit card-sized rugged design. While the storage device has IP65 certification for dust and water resistance, it can also resist drops at up to 3 meters. The rugged-designed device will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB storage options. The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions are now available for purchase.
Samsung explains the rugged durability, “Supremely tough, fast, and compact. The new T7 Shield gives you superior performance on the go, even in challenging environmental conditions1. Super-speed inside with durable protection outside keeps work flowing, ready to hand off to a client or for hands-on editing at home.”
The portable PCIe NVMe SSD comes with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, supporting read and write speeds of up to 1,050Mbps and 1,000Mbps, which Samsung says is more than 1.9x faster than SATA-based portable SSDs. While it doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner that is available on the T7, it features password-based protection for data. The T7 Shield supports Android, macOS, and Windows operating systems.
Additionally, the device is available in Beige, Black, and Blue color options. In terms of prices, the 1TB version is priced at EUR 134.90. The T7 Shield 2TB version comes with €219.90 price tag, and the 4TB version is priced at €429.90.
