Samsung keeps its devices updated with monthly updates, especially the security ones. In October, the company will also release a security update for select Galaxy devices. Samsung Galaxy Devices with the October Security update
If you wonder whether your Samsung Galaxy device got the October update, you can check it. You need to open the Settings app, tap “Software Update,” and choose “Download and install.” According to the update list, the Korean company will release the October security update to select devices, including the flagships.
Samsung announces, “Along with Google patches, Samsung Mobile provides 18 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items described below, to improve our customer’s confidence in the security of Samsung Mobile devices. Samsung security index (SSI), found in “Security software version”, SMR Oct-2022 Release 1 includes all patches from Samsung and Google. Some of the SVE items may not be included in this package, in case these items were already included in a previous maintenance release.”
The tech giant will release the Samsung October update first to the latest and greatest Galaxy devices like the S series and A series. However, the update could be different according to the countries. Additionally, the company is expected to launch the stable Android 13 and OneUI 5.0 soon.
