Samsung August 2024 Security Update Fixes Multiple Vulnerabilities
The August security update, announced by Google at the start of the month, has started rolling out for Samsung Galaxy phones following its release for Pixel devices. According to reports, the update Google released on Sunday is now being pushed out by Samsung.
This new update, which addresses 50 security vulnerabilities, includes 35 fixes provided by Google, with one being critical and the others categorized as high priority. Samsung has added 15 more fixes to the update. These vulnerabilities, which were related to improper access control, were found in ExtControlDeviceService, Galaxy Watch, Knox, and the system itself, making it crucial to apply the update as soon as it becomes available on your device.
Contrary to expectations, the update was first released not for a flagship model, but for the mid-range Galaxy M55. The update, carrying the software version M556BXXU3AXG7, is available for the Galaxy M55 with the model number SM-M556B.
If your device hasn’t received the update yet, it may be due to regional differences, so you can expect it to be available soon. What do you think about this? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
