The Samsung April 2024 update has been released for the S23 FE, S20 FE, and Tab S9 series
The new security update, planned to be rolled out to dozens of devices in April, is already available for download on many models. This update is focused on fixing emerging security vulnerabilities and does not introduce new features. According to statements from Google, the April 2024 security patch enhances the security level of Android phones and tablets by addressing significant security vulnerabilities.
The security update initially released by Google includes twenty-seven fixes, with one marked as critical and the rest as high risk. Samsung has added seventeen fixes for Galaxy devices, bringing the total number of security patches to forty-four. Additionally, the Samsung April 2024 security update addresses a security vulnerability in the Samsung Pay application.
The update has been quickly announced for newer models like the S24 series, while it was rolled out to older devices around mid-month. The Galaxy S20 FE model has received the update with software versions G780GXXS9EXC6 and G781BXXSAHXC6, which are available for both LTE and 5G variants.
The update with software version S711BXXS2CXD1 has been released for the Exynos-powered model of the Galaxy S23 FE, and it is now available for download in the European region, with availability expanding to more countries soon. Lastly, the update with software version X516BXXS3BXD6 for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE model has enhanced the security of many devices in the European region.
