Samsung to offer AI Subscriptions

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung has announced plans to launch a paid subscription service for its AI-powered smartphones next month. The AI Subscription Club, previously available for select home appliances in South Korea, will now extend to Galaxy phones and the upcoming Ballie AI robot.

Han Jong-hee, Samsung Electronics vice chair, confirmed this development, stating, “We will apply the subscription service to Galaxy smartphones starting next month.” He also mentioned that Ballie will debut first in Korea and the US, with plans to offer it as a subscription in Korea.

The AI Subscription Club allows consumers to access AI-powered devices with lower upfront costs. It includes optional repair and maintenance services, enhancing user convenience. Importantly, subscribing is not mandatory to access AI features on Samsung devices. These features will remain free until at least the end of 2025.

Ballie is ready for release in 2025

Samsung first introduced Ballie, a small, rolling AI robot, five years ago. The company now says Ballie is ready for release in 2025. This robot aims to assist users in daily tasks, integrating seamlessly into smart home environments.

While the subscription model currently operates in South Korea, Samsung has not confirmed plans for global expansion. However, further announcements are anticipated at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22nd in San Jose, California. Here, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 series, potentially providing more details on the subscription service’s availability in other markets.

Vision AI for Samsung televisions announced!

Samsung announced the new Samsung Vision AI artificial intelligence system for televisions at the first look event organised before CES 2025.

This move reflects a growing trend among tech companies to offer subscription-based access to hardware. By reducing initial costs and providing ongoing services, Samsung aims to attract a broader customer base. The inclusion of maintenance options further enhances the appeal, ensuring devices remain in optimal condition throughout their use.

As the tech industry evolves, Samsung’s introduction of the AI Subscription Club and the Ballie AI robot signifies a significant shift towards service-oriented models. Consumers can look forward to more flexible options and innovative devices designed to integrate AI seamlessly into daily life.
