Samsung to offer core Galaxy AI features for free

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung has clarified claims that Galaxy AI features will be paid. The company announced that the default AI tools on Galaxy phones will remain free indefinitely. This statement puts an end to ongoing uncertainty about whether these features could become free after 2025.

The company’s announcement stemmed from previously vague statements that Galaxy AI would be free for a limited time only. Samsung has frequently emphasized that Galaxy AI will be free until the end of 2025, but has not provided clear information about the future model. This has raised questions among users about whether AI features will be offered through a subscription or a purchase model in the future.

According to the latest statement, all AI tools included with Galaxy phones under the Galaxy AI name and integrated into the One UI interface will remain free indefinitely. Tools like Live Translation, Writing Assistant, Translator, Note-Taking Assistant, Transcript Assistant, Scan Assistant, Generative AI Editing, Sketch to Image, Audio Deletion, Portrait Studio, AI Wallpaper, Now Brief, and Health Assistant are integrated into Samsung’s own apps and managed by the company’s own development teams.

Some AI features not under Samsung’s direct control, however, are in a different situation. The future of features based on Google’s Gemini AI technology, available on Galaxy devices, depends on Google’s strategy. Paid options, such as Gemini Advanced, are already available. Some Gemini-based features currently available for free may become paid in the future.

This decision by the company provides significant clarity regarding the long-term use case for Galaxy AI. Especially as AI becomes increasingly prevalent on mobile devices, the access model for such tools is crucial for users.
