Samsung wants to buy your old Galaxy phone!

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Samsung is making a significant change in the used phone market with a new initiative that aims to increase the value of Galaxy devices. The technology giant has launched a program that allows users to sell their old Galaxy phones to Samsung without having to buy a new device.

The program, which will first start in South Korea on January 14, is expected to be available globally in the future. Unlike standard exchange programs, the new exchange system aims to pay customers for their old devices.

The program includes a wide range of phones, from the Galaxy S20 series to the latest foldable and flagship models. Samsung will evaluate the condition of each exchanged phone and classify it as “Excellent”, “Good” or “Recycled” for the recovery of its parts.

50,000 Orders for Tesla Model Y “Juniper” in China on First Day!

Tesla met expectations with recently announced Tesla Model Y "Juniper," as it received 50,000 orders in the Chinese market on the first day.

The company positions this program as part of its sustainability efforts and commitment to the economy. By making it easier to reuse Galaxy devices, Samsung hopes to minimize e-waste and extend the lifespan of its products.

This move also addresses the second-hand value gap between Galaxy phones and iPhones. While iPhone models are often sold for higher prices on the second-hand market, Samsung devices lose value in the long run.

It is possible to say that the new program will be implemented in South Korea in the first phase and then come to the global market. Of course, it is unclear whether Samsung will implement such an exchange program in our country.
