Samsung has been showcasing its long-developed extended reality (XR) headset, “Project Moohan,” at several events this year. Now, the device has been brought to the venue for the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2025. At this summit, devices from Qualcomm partners are being showcased to demonstrate how the San Diego-based company’s chips can power future technologies. Here are the details.
The Samsung XR title remains a mystery
Samsung and Qualcomm have a close relationship, as Samsung frequently uses Snapdragon chipsets in its flagship devices. The presence of Samsung MX President TM Roh as the keynote speaker at last year’s summit demonstrates the strength of this collaboration.
“Project Moohan,” which was also on display at this year’s summit, remains housed in a glass case, away from prying eyes, as it has at previous exhibitions. Ahead of its official launch, Samsung is maintaining its “look, don’t touch” policy for the headset.
This headset was developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, Samsung, and Google. The device’s hardware power is provided by Qualcomm’s chip, while the software platform is handled by Google, and all other hardware and design are handled by Samsung.
The company hasn’t yet officially confirmed the exact launch date for the headset. However, reports suggest a launch could occur in the coming weeks. Pricing and initial market availability are also still a mystery. Some reports suggest the XR headset may initially be available only in select markets.
