Samsung is preparing to launch its first smart Tri-Fold phone with a triple foldable screen in 2025. The South Korea-based technology giant will make a bombshell entry into the foldable phone segment with this device. The new model will go beyond the existing Galaxy Z Fold series with its double hinge structure. Here are the details…
Samsung’s “Tri-Fold” smartphone with triple foldable screen is coming in 2025
According to leaks, mass production of parts of the Tri-Fold device will start between April and June 2025. Samsung is targeting an initial production of 200,000 units for this model. In fact, while this figure may seem lower compared to the million-unit production of the current Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 models, it is quite ambitious given an entirely new design and price structure.
The Tri-Fold will comprise the device in three sections, with two hinges, and will offer a nearly 10-inch screen when unfolded. Although similar to Huawei’s Mate XT, Samsung’s design differs in the hinge and screen protection mechanisms.
The production of the new hinge system is more complex compared to standard foldable devices. The double hinge carries the possibility of more technical problems. However, Samsung can easily overcome these difficulties with the experience it has gained in the Galaxy Z series for years. The device’s hardware will also be backed by a Snapdragon chipset that will deliver powerful performance and a long-lasting battery.
