Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which was introduced in January, came to the agenda with a new problem. Galaxy S24 users expressed that they had an Android Auto connection problem on social media. Here are the details…
Galaxy S24 users are experiencing Android Auto connectivity issues
There is a known compatibility issue with access point connections between some Volkswagen vehicles and Android devices. This is due to a change in Android 11 in the way IP addresses are assigned for the hotspot. Samsung has announced that the connectivity issue is due to IP address assignment.
Making a statement on the subject, Samsung said, “Some of our users have reported that they are experiencing a problem connecting their Galaxy S24 devices to the infotainment system in Volkswagen, Skoda or SEAT brand vehicles. Contact your Volkswagen, Skoda or SEAT customer center or service center. The automakers have announced that they are working on software updates for the affected vehicles.”
Samsung stated that they contacted Google and automobile manufacturers to solve the problem. According to the researches, the problem is caused by the software running in the infotainment systems of cars.
Explaining the solutions to the problem, Samsung prepared a list for users. The solution list announced by the company is as follows:
- Check whether your car and stereo system are compatible with Android Auto.
- Check if Android Auto is turned on in the vehicle settings.
- Update the car’s infotainment system software.
- Check if Android Auto is available in your country.
- If connecting via USB cable, make sure you use a high quality cable that can support data transfers. If possible, you should use the original cable that came with your device.
- Check the charging port to make sure there is no dirt or debris.
