Apple officially unveiled Vision Pro at WWDC 2023 event last month. Combining the virtual and real worlds, these glasses have made a huge impact on the tech world in a short space of time. Finally, it has been revealed that Samsung has delayed its own XR headset.

Samsung delays XR headset by six months

Samsung, which has yet to make the transition to virtual reality technology, has been rumoured to be working on an AR/VR device for some time. According to new reports, the company has delayed the XR glasses, which were due to be released in February 2024, by six months.

The reason for Samsung’s postponement is not yet known, but it is highly likely that the decision was made because of Apple’s Vision Pro. Samsung is said to have decided to revise the specifications and design of the XR glasses. This has led to a disruption in the launch schedule.

Mass production of the Samsung XR device was due to start in early 2024. However, the Vision Pro move has caused confusion within the company. A number of executives in South Korea were reportedly unhappy with the glasses, prompting a re-evaluation of the product.

While the Vision Pro has had a big impact on the market, Apple is said to be having major production problems. Despite the $3500 price tag, Apple will only sell them in select stores and by appointment.

It is currently unclear what Samsung’s XR glasses will offer. However, as they will be based on XR technology, we can say that they will have similar features to the Vision Pro. However, we would like to remind you that there is no official statement from the company.
