Samsung has launched a new era that will fundamentally change the processor strategy in the smartphone world. It was previously announced that the Exynos 2600 processor, which will power the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus models next year, will come without a built-in modem. Samsung has officially announced the Exynos Modem 5410, a new standalone solution that will fill this gap and take connectivity technologies to the next level.

This new modem, separate from the processor, stands out not only for its internet speed but also for the security and satellite technologies it offers. Manufactured using the 4nm EUV process, the Exynos Modem 5410 has a standalone structure supporting 3GPP Release 17 standards. Capable of combining both sub-6GHz and mmWave networks, this modem can achieve breathtaking download speeds of 14.79 Gbps. This pushes the boundaries of the 5G experience, promising uninterrupted data flow.

The most exciting feature of the new modem is its ability to communicate directly via satellite. Combining LTE Direct-to-Cell, NB-IoT NTN, and NR-NTN technologies on a single chip, Samsung offers the following capabilities even in areas without coverage:

Samsung is also building the future on security today. The Exynos Modem 5410 supports Hybrid Post-Quantum Cryptography. This technology ensures that sensitive data, such as device identities, is protected even against future quantum computer-based cyber threats.

So why did Samsung separate the modem from the processor? There are three main performance-oriented reasons behind this decision:
