There have been new developments in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious mega-city project, Neom. Local organisations seeking to accelerate the configuration of the futuristic city have secured an additional $2.7 billion in funding. Neom is expected to be completed by 2030.

The Line will open in 2030

The futuristic city to be built by a Saudi Arabia-backed company called Neom has captured the world’s attention with its $500 billion price tag. The first phase of the city, which aims to pioneer revolutionary design and ‘human-centred development’, will begin with The Line project.

A recent interview with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed the status of the project. First announced in 2017, The Line was expected to be completed by 2025. However, due to conditions such as the pandemic and global inflation, it has been pushed back to 2030.

Z Generation doesn’t know: How did the duck shooting gun work in Atari?

How did the Atari light guns, which we had in our childhood and were the best times, work and how did they hit the targets?

The Line, which will be 10 metres long and 200 metres wide, will rise 500 metres above the level of the Red Sea. The line will have mirror-like walls and the remarkable thing about it is that it will be closed to traffic.

The city will be zero carbon and will accommodate 9 million people in the first phase. Basic facilities and services will prioritise people’s health and quality of life. That’s why they will be located within a five-minute walk of residential areas.

The Line, which is expected to be completed by 2030, has entered its final phase with an additional $2.7 million in funding. However, it remains unclear whether the project will be delayed again.
