NASA published a report on the world temperature. This summer has been a very hot summer in Turkey and the world. Many reports recorded it as the hottest summer in recent years. NASA, one of the biggest arbiters in this field, explained this situation with documents.

Summer 2023 was the hottest summer on Earth since 1880, when global records began

A report by scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York has revealed the frightening dimensions of this summer. June, July and August combined were 0.23 degrees Celsius hotter than any other summer in NASA’s records.

NASA has been recording global temperatures since 1880. The temperature measurements, known as GISTEMP, are obtained from a calculation method that includes data from tens of thousands of meteorological stations as well as sea temperature data from ship and buoy-based devices.

NASA uses Starfield to promote new internship program

NASA went viral on social media with its new Starfield post. The space agency's internship program was announced on Starfield.

In the GISTEMP measurement shown above, the temperature between 1951 and 1980 is assumed to be 0. The graph reflects the average of the increases all over the world according to this zero point. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in a statement

The effects of climate change are a threat to our planet and future generations. The record-breaking temperatures of summer 2023 are not just a series of numbers; they are having dire consequences in the real world. From sweltering temperatures in Arizona and across the country, to uncontrollable fires across Canada and extreme flooding in Europe and Asia, extreme weather is threatening lives and livelihoods around the world.
