Some bikes just won’t work with Sdkeboost
There’s no pretending this kit fits every frame out there. It won’t install on bikes with V-brakes or seat stays that use a single solid tube. Instead, your frame needs:
- Disc brakes only
- Dual-tube seat stays for mounting
- Space above the rear tyre for the unit and included mudguard
While the motor design is basic, it grips the tyre directly to drive the wheel, it works efficiently. That said, tyre wear may increase over time with this setup.
Sdkeboost conversion kit targets budget-conscious riders
At $339 for early supporters, Sdkeboost undercuts most mid-range e-bikes by a wide margin. It’s ideal for riders who already have a reliable frame and want electric assistance without replacing their entire bike. The promised range clocks in at 80 km per charge, assuming typical conditions.
Still, the product is currently crowdfunded. That means delays, design changes, or outright cancellations are always on the table. If you’re not comfortable with that level of risk, this probably isn’t your moment.
