Google co-founder withdraws his investments in Elon Musk’s companies

Ana sayfa / News

Sergey Brin is the co-founder of tech giant Google with Larry Page. Sergey Brin, who has been on the agenda with his private life for a while, broke up with his quarter-century friend Elon Musk. So much so that he told his financial advisors to withdraw their investments in any of Elon Musk’s companies.

Elon Musk is a large stakeholder in several companies

Sergey Brin is also in the top 10, along with Elon Musk, on Forbes’ richest list. Sergey Brin is still an active board member at Alphabet, which serves as Google’s umbrella organization. He is the son of a Jewish family who immigrated from the Soviet Union to the United States and is a successful software engineer.

Elon Musk is a significant stakeholder in several companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and Neuralink. Sergey is thought to have investments in these companies, but the investment rates were unknown. According to the New York Times, Google and Fidelity invested 1 billion dollars in SpaceX in 2015.

It seems that shortly Sergey will have no shares in these companies, or perhaps none at all. Elon Musk’s close circle said that Elon knelt down and apologized to Sergey, but Sergey did not forgive him. The reason for the deterioration between the two is Sergey’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, with whom he filed for divorce earlier this year. Although the couple is still married on paper, they are separated, and their divorce proceedings are pending.

Do you think this move by Sergey could deal a significant economic blow to Elon’s companies? How will this financial blow affect Elon’s companies? Likewise, could Sergey Brin take an economic impact against his own companies with a counterattack? Please share with us in the comments.
