Paralives, an independent life simulation game inspired by The Sims series, recently announced a development update. Among the updates announced is the date on which the game will be released on which platform. Here are the details!
Paralives is coming to PC and Mac in 2025
The game will launch in early access in 2025, scheduled for PC and Mac users. Paralives aims to give players an immersive experience similar to managing virtual lives in a dollhouse-like environment.
The development update video showcased several new features that provide insight into Paralives’ gameplay mechanics. These features include complex job and career systems, dynamic relationship mechanics, a detailed personality system for playable characters known as Parafolks, and a comprehensive needs and wants system that affects their behavior and interactions.
One notable aspect of Paralives is its approach to post-release content. Unlike The Sims series, which typically relies on paid downloadable content (DLC), Paralives will offer free expansions to its player base. This decision has garnered attention and praise from players as it addresses a common criticism of The Sims series.
First unveiled at E3 2021, Paralives impressed audiences with its familiar yet innovative gameplay mechanics. While reminiscent of other dollhouse living simulation games like The Sims, Paralives is differentiated by its detailed furniture and design customization features, giving players unprecedented creative freedom to shape their virtual world.
In addition to powerful building tools, Paralives features a simulation mode where players can guide their Parafolks through various life events, interact with other characters, start a family, build a career, and navigate the complexities of everyday life.
A highlight of the development update is the cards system, which gives players options to customize the development of relationships between Parafolks. This system combines elements of branching dialog trees and action wheels, allowing players to define the nature of interpersonal connections in the game.
