At an event held last night, Apple introduced its newest products to users. While the iPhone 17 series was the centerpiece of the event, the new Apple Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 also attracted considerable attention. New features were also announced alongside the new watches, including the Sleep Score feature. Here are the Apple Watch models that will receive the Sleep Score feature.

Sleep Score is an advanced feature that scores your sleep by analyzing factors such as your sleep duration, your bedtime consistency, how many times you wake up during the night, and how much time you spend in each sleep stage (deep, light, and REM). Based on the score, Apple categorizes this data and compares it to the user’s average sleep data. This allows you to clearly see which aspects of your sleep you can improve.

Apple states that this feature, introduced with watchOS 26, was developed using more than 5 million nights of sleep data from the Apple Heart & Motion Study. It also utilized guidance from respected organizations such as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the National Sleep Foundation, and the World Sleep Association.

Contrary to popular belief, the new Sleep Score feature isn’t exclusive to the latest Apple Watches. According to Apple, all Apple Watch models that receive the watchOS 26 update will benefit from this feature. Here’s the full compatibility list:

To use this feature, you’ll also need an iPhone 11 or later with iOS 26. However, if you have an older Apple Watch, you may need to make some adjustments to the battery life. It’s important for your watch to hold its battery both day and night to track sleep at night.
