Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 has 50% faster Kryo CPU
According to the announcement, Qualcomm’s SD 7+ Gen 2 chipset comes with improvements in terms of power efficiency and substantial performance. The processor has a main Kryo CPU core which is clocked at 2.91GHz and other Kryo CPUs, 1+3+4, offer 50% faster performance compared to its predecessor, SD7 Gen 1.
The new chipset features an unnamed Adreno GPU, which offers 2x improved performance. Also, the GPU supports Vulkan 1.1, Select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, Adreno Frame Motion Engine, video playback: H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), VP8, VP9, 4K HDR 10, HLG, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, AV1.
On the other hand, it has the support of up to 4K @ 60Hz/QHD+ @ 120Hz internal display, and up to 4K @ 60Hz support external display. Its display also offers 10-bit color and HDR10, and HDR10+. Additionally, it comes with an improved AI Engine with new features, including Hexagon DSP with Hexagon Vector eXtensions, Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, Hexagon Scalar Accelerator, Hexagon Direct Link, Dual AI processors for audio and sensor, and Always-sensing camera.
While it can support up to 200-megapixel photo capture, it can also support LPDDR5 @ 3200MHz memory. In terms of connectivity, it has Qualcomm FastConnect 6900; Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6; 2.4/5GHz/6GHz, 20/40/80/160 MHz Channels; DBS (2×2 + 2×2), TWT, WPA3, 8×8 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, aptX Voice, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and LE audio. According to the announcement, the chipset will be available on Redmi and Realme devices this month.
