Qualcomm is preparing to push the limits of performance far beyond what we are used to with its next-generation processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. The powerful chip, which is expected to be released in 2025, is said to offer a 20% or more performance increase compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. Therefore, we will see much more powerful flagship models in the coming period. So which phones will the new processor be used in? Details in our news…
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 will offer more than 20% performance boost
Even though the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is built on the current 3nm architecture, it is enhanced with TSMC’s N3P manufacturing process, making it more efficient. This means significant energy savings and performance gains compared to the N3E process used in the previous generation. Samsung’s SF2 processor manufacturing process is reportedly disabled in this new model and TSMC is fully involved.
AnTuTu tests: The new processor is predicted to exceed the 3,000,000 points seen in devices like the Realme GT 7 Pro and iQOO 13. If we do indeed see these levels, power-demanding features such as heavy AI processing will not tire the device and the number of AI features will increase.
But can a processor at these levels compete with Apple? For now, we can say that compared to rivals like Apple’s upcoming A19 Pro processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 will be at the top of the heap. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is slated to be featured in high-end smartphones that will be released in 2025.
This chip is expected to be a big reason for preference, especially for gaming-oriented devices and performance seekers. In addition to speed and efficiency, Qualcomm’s new chip will also offer superior performance in critical areas such as battery life and temperature management.
So, do you think Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 can outperform its competitors? What new technologies can next-generation processors unlock? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us.
