The M3 chip series, which Apple introduced last October, was of standard-setting quality. Qualcomm’s new flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, whose performance specifications were revealed today, will apparently take on the M3.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is one of the rare chipsets that exceed 10,000 points on Geekbench
According to Geekbench 6 results, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has a 46 percent advantage in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While this alone is enough to hype the new chipset, things get even bigger when compared to the M3.According to Geekbench 6 results, the chipset also ties the Apple M3 chip in both single-core and multi-core benchmarks. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has a single-core performance of 2,845 and a multi-core score of 10,628.
The Apple M3 chip has a single-core score of 2,985 and a multi-core score of 10,762. And these scores don’t even reflect on the end user at all. However, it is also claimed that this Geekbench test for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 may be fake. An anonymous ‘whistleblower’ claims that the chipset was tested at 4.00 GHz, which boosted the single-multiple core scores.
We are just passing on the information. If the Geekbench test is indeed true, then the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will go head-to-head with the Apple M3 chip, which would be a great achievement for Qualcomm. If it’s a fake, then we’ll leave it up to you.
