Qualcomm, a semiconductor giant, was exclusively producing mobile processors until October 24, 2023, when it introduced its first laptop processor, the Snapdragon X Elite, at an event in Hawaii. This Arm-based processor quickly drew attention with its performance. Now, the first computer model to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor has been revealed.
Which Model Will Be the First to Use Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite?
Said to be twice as powerful as Intel’s 13th generation Core i7-1360P and i7-1355U processors, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite is manufactured using TSMC’s 4-nanometer architecture. While the processor’s standard clock speed is 3.8 GHz, it can reach up to 4.3 GHz with dual cores. With advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, the Snapdragon X Elite sets Qualcomm up for competition against major processor manufacturers like Apple, Intel, and AMD.
The first computer processor from Qualcomm will power laptop models from manufacturers like HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and ASUS. According to reports, the first computer to use the product will be the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, soon to be released by Samsung.
According to current information, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge will feature a 14-inch screen, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage. While these specifications are not extremely high-end by today’s standards, the price of this computer is expected to be around 1,800 euros.
However, it’s worth noting that there will be multiple models featuring the Snapdragon X Elite processor. If the cheapest option is chosen for the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, we may encounter a lower price.
In terms of comparison, the 13.6-inch Apple MacBook Air can be purchased for 40 euros less than the Galaxy Book 4 Edge. It’s important to remember that the cost of processor production is a significant factor in the price of an electronic product.
