Apple is known for releasing a new Apple Watch Pride band and Watch Face each year to celebrate Pride Month. Although the official announcement is still a month away, Twitter user Aaron managed to get a sneak peek at the upcoming Pride band and exclusive Watch Face.

First glimpse at the colorful new design

This year, Apple appears to be focusing on a white Sports Loop Band with a confetti theme, incorporating the colors of the LGBTQIA+ flag. The new Watch Face follows the same trend, featuring confetti scattered across the display.

It is currently unclear how Aaron obtained these images, but they seem legitimate based on Apple’s usual assets for showcasing new watch faces available for the Apple Watch. Furthermore, Aaron has a strong track record for accurately leaking Apple-related information.

With the International Day Against Homophobia taking place on May 17, Apple may announce the new Apple Watch Pride band and Watch Face sooner than expected.

Apple’s commitment to social causes

In recent years, Apple has become more vocal about supporting various causes, including privacy, climate change, anti-racism, and LGBTQIA+ rights. The company celebrates both Black History Month and Pride Month, typically with the release of new Apple Watch bands and Watch Faces.

While Apple’s special edition releases for the Black community are well-intended, some question why the company seems to be engaging in positive discrimination solely towards this specific group. This approach could potentially be seen as reverse-racism, raising concerns about equality and fairness in supporting various causes.

Since the Pride celebrations began in 2016, Apple has released a custom Pride band each year for users to display their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The company has also reinforced its commitment to the community by supporting advocacy organizations such as Encircle, The Trevor Project, Equality Federation Institute, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, Gender Spectrum, GLSEN, Human Rights Campaign, ILGA World, The National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, and SMYAL.
