Rebellion is gearing up for the next installment in the Sniper Elite series. Unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night, the stealth-action game will be called Sniper Elite: Resistance. During the event, details about the game set in World War II and the release date were shared.
Sniper Elite: Resistance announced
Sniper Elite: Resistance will follow the adventure of Special Operations Executive agent Harry Hawker as he works to defeat Nazi threats in occupied France. Hawker discovers a superweapon developed by the Nazis that could turn the tide of the war, the dev team said.
The new game will continue the series’ signature sniper gameplay. This will include plenty of X-Ray kill scenes. Rebellion also promises improved gunplay mechanics and the ability to customize WWII weapons.
Players will also take part in specially set propaganda missions. In these missions, it will be possible to collect various weapons and character attachments. In addition to the story, the multiplayer mode will continue.
Rebellion also stated that the Resistance story will share the same timeline as Sniper Elite 5. In this context, he stated that its story also progresses in parallel. This shows that there may be a connection between the stories of the two games.
Elite: Resistance will be released for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2025. The game will be added to the Game Pass library on day one. Co-developed by Rebellion and Wushu Studios
