Twitter changed its name and logo a while ago. Upon Elon Musk’s sudden decision, it was stated that the “X” brand would be used instead of Twitter. However, millions of people were not happy with this decision. A software developer has developed a Google Chrome extension where you can turn into the iconic Twitter bird instead of the X logo.
Bring back the iconic Twitter bird with Chrome extension
Twitter’s rebranding as “X” has sparked controversy, with some users opposing the change. Elon Musk unveiled his new brand earlier this week, replacing the iconic bird logo with the “X” symbol.
While Musk tried to turn Twitter into an “everything app”, many users complained about the loss of the bird logo. One software developer listened to these complaints and created a Google Chrome extension that restores Twitter to its original form.
The way the extension works is quite simple. After installing the extension on Chrome, you’ll see the “X” logo replaced with the classic bird when you refresh the page. However, since it is not official software, you may encounter occasional crashes or the logo disappearing.
On the other hand, a news that emerged the other day claimed that the light-colored theme for Twitter will be removed. According to Musk’s statement, Twitter is on its way to serve users only with dark mode.
Twitter currently offers several different background options based on the user’s personal preference: light-colored mode, dim mode with a dark blue/gray background, and a dark mode called lights off. According to Musk, the dim mode and light-colored mode options will soon be removed from the platform.
