In the past months, the PlayStation exclusive game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was officially announced. While the release date was said to be in the fall of 2023, no exact date was given. Now, new information has come from a rather strange source on this matter. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date has been revealed. Let’s take a look at the details:
Voice actor of Venom tweets the release date!
Developed by Insomniac, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2023, thanks to the success of the first game. Tony Todd, who is the voice actor for Venom in the game, shared information about the anticipated game on Twitter. After deleting this post, Todd stated that the new Spider-Man game will be released in September.
In response to a follower’s comment that the game won’t come early enough, Todd said, “Apparently in September! Big promotional and advertising campaigns will begin in August. That’s why I got the news. Hold your breath, you’ll need it!”
Although Tony Todd, as the voice actor for Venom, is knowledgeable about the game’s date, there is no official statement from Sony and the game developer Insomniac yet. On the other hand, the date Todd mentioned, September 2023, will see several AAA productions released back-to-back. Therefore, a possible Spider-Man 2 delay wouldn’t be surprising.
Insomniac Games is also working on a Wolverine game for PS5. According to the studio, the game will be directed by Brian Horton and Cameron Christian, the creative leads of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The company, which has been very successful in the Spider-Man side, wants to maintain this success in other Marvel character games as well.
