Spotify has announced two new features that enhance the music sharing experience on Instagram. You can now share audio previews in Instagram Stories and share music in real-time in Instagram Notes.
Spotify announces new Instagram features
Spotify says these new features are designed to enhance users’ discovery and sharing habits and are rolling out to subscribers worldwide.
When you share a Spotify track to an Instagram Story, a short audio clip is now automatically added. Viewers of the story will have the option to listen directly to the track on Spotify by tapping the music tag.
Furthermore, by tapping the song title at the top of the Story, you can discover Reels videos featuring the track by selecting “View song details,” and the song can be added directly to the user’s “liked songs” list on Spotify.
Instagram Notes now supports live song updates from Spotify. When this feature is enabled, the Note automatically updates to show the next track playing now or in 30 minutes.
Your friends can reply directly to the note or save the song to their own library. The new sharing option on Spotify also makes it easier to send a song directly to Notes.
This move by Spotify rivals similar features recently announced by Apple Music. Spotify, which has long emphasized social media integration, aims to allow users to further personalize their music listening habits and instantly share them with friends.
These features elevate music discovery beyond just listening to music and transform it into a social interaction tool. This not only increases engagement on the platform but also makes it easier for users to discover new songs and connect with others.
These new features have arrived on the Spotify and Instagram apps on Android and iOS.
