Spotify is expanding its features with the new site, called Spotify Tickets. The company launched a new service that you can buy live concert tickets. There is a limited selection of upcoming US-based concerts for now. You can purchase a few concerts of artists like Limbeck, TOKiMONSTA, and Annie DiRusso. Here are the details about Spotify Tickets.
Spotify starts selling live music concert tickets
The music streaming company launched a new website, tickets.spotify.com. Spotify is testing this website in the U.S for now. You can now purchase tickets for live music events including Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Crows, Osees, and TOKiMONSTA. Spotify already partners with Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and See Tickets about concert tickets. However, the company is selling the tickets on Spotify itself.
Spotify spokesperson Carling Farley said in a statement, “At Spotify, we routinely test new products and ideas to improve our user experience. Some of those end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as important learnings. Tickets.spotify.com is our latest test. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time.” Additionally, the company is focused on pre-sales more than primary sales of the ticket.
On the legal page of Spotify Tickets, the company pointed out, “On behalf of third parties which can include venues, event promoters, fan clubs and artists as their disclosed ticketing agent.” We can understand that Spotify doesn’t set the prices of the tickets. Also, Spotify will charge customers a booking fee during checkout.
To purchase tickets on Spotify Tickets, you need to create a Spotify account. When you purchase a concert ticket, you won’t have printable tickets or tickets by mail just yet. The company says you must confirm your email and a valid ID at the venue’s box office to pick up your tickets.
