Spotify, the world’s most popular digital music service, continues to be equipped with new features every day. Spotify, which aims to enhance user experience, is now working on the Offline Mix feature for users with slow internet connections.
What is Spotify’s new Offline Mix feature?
Sometimes when you’re out and about, your internet connection can suddenly slow down or even cut off completely. This is enough to frustrate especially those who love listening to music. Spotify is working on the Offline Mix feature precisely for this reason.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced the new Offline Mix feature in a tweet from his official Twitter account today. According to Ek, this feature allows you to stay connected to music by saving data when your internet connection is slow.
The Offline Mix feature automatically adds the last songs you listened to into a playlist called “Your Offline Mix.” It is stated that the duration of this playlist will be a maximum of 3.5 hours and it will come into play when the internet connection weakens.
There is no information available about how exactly the feature works. However, since it is developed for users with slow internet connections, it is assumed that the songs in this playlist will be automatically downloaded to the phone. This enables offline listening and data saving.
So what is the difference between Offline Mix and Offline Listening features? Because it seems that both allow listening to songs without an internet connection. This creates a question mark in the users’ minds.
It is said that the difference between the two is that Offline Mix automatically downloads only the last songs listened to, not the ones you choose. In Offline Listening, you select the music yourself. Spotify will share more details in the near future.
Spotify is currently testing the Offline Mix feature and reportedly, it has been released for some users. You can check it by logging into the application. However, it is unknown when it will be available to everyone.
With this feature developed for users with slow internet connections, Spotify aims to enhance user experience. So what do you think about this? How do you find the new Offline Mix feature? Do you think it will be useful? Share your opinions with us in the Comments section below.
