“Robot vacuums, which make life easier when it comes to house cleaning, may not be suitable for every area of the home. Especially in houses with multi-level flooring and small stairs, the limitations of these devices often push users to seek alternative solutions. However, Chinese tech company Dreame has introduced a solution to this issue with its X50 robot vacuum, unveiled at CES 2025. This new model stands out with its ability to climb small stairs.
The robot can easily climb obstacles up to 6 cm
The most notable feature of the Dreame X50 is its ability to climb steps up to 6 cm in height. This capability is made possible by a motorized arm located at the bottom of the device. This technology, called the ‘ProLeap System,’ pushes the vacuum upward, allowing it to easily traverse small stairs or elevation differences. However, it’s worth noting that the X50 cannot climb full-sized stairs, as the average height of a standard stair is at least 10-11 cm.
The X50 is not limited to stair climbing. The device is equipped with an AI system capable of recognizing 200 different types of obstacles. This enables it to easily maneuver under furniture and detect obstacles, adjusting its route accordingly. Additionally, the vacuum features a hot water-powered mopping system and a special brush that prevents hair from tangling, making cleaning more effective.
The Dreame X50 was initially launched in China and is now entering the U.S. market with a price tag of $1,699 (approximately 60,000 TL). Pre-orders will open on January 7, and the device will be available for purchase starting February 14 on Amazon and Dreame’s official website. Customers who pre-order will also receive a two-year extended warranty and an additional cleaning kit as a bonus.
Distinguished by its stair-climbing capability, the Dreame X50 represents a significant innovation in the robot vacuum market. Do you think such features make robot vacuums more practical? Share your thoughts in the comments below!”
