Starfield created a lot of excitement upon its release, but it failed to meet the expectations of some players.Despite the game’s vast universe and the freedom it offered, some technical issues, repetitive mission structures and superficial storytelling were criticized. However, Bethesda seems excited for Starfield 2.

Former Bethesda designer Bruce Nesmith says he’s optimistic about a Starfield sequel. Nesmith, who is leaving Bethesda in 2021, said in a recent interview that the studio could develop Starfield 2 based on its experience with previous franchises like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

According to Nesmith, the studio has a lot of potential to address the shortcomings of the first game and expand its scope. The former employee also pointed out Bethesda’s ability to continually develop and improve with its sequels.

Xiaomi reveals smartwatch and wristband before launch!

Xiaomi revealed the improved Watch S4 and Smart Band 9 Pro models before the launch event to be held on 29 October.

For example, Skyrim was built on top of Oblivion and Oblivion was developed on top of Morrowind. This allowed each new Elder Scrolls game to focus on improving the existing foundation and adding new layers.

Nesmith believes the same will be true for Starfield 2, emphasizing that instead of starting from scratch, developers will be able to use existing assets, systems and universe. This could lead to more engaging missions, locations and gameplay mechanics.

Developer Todd Howard has described Starfield as one of Bethesda’s next big three franchises. However, Starfield 2 development may be delayed as the studio focuses on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the new Fallout games.
