Valve is making a new update to make it easier to find games offered as demos on Steam. The demo version, which was previously on the same page as the main game, will now be offered on its own page within Steam as a separate game. This will make the demo version easier to find.

Valve announced in a Steam blog post: “Great Steam Demo Update”

Many developers offer demo versions of games to users on certain platforms, so that players can experience their games before purchasing them. Steam is one of these platforms. However, it is almost impossible to find a demo version of a game on the popular gaming platform by searching for it. Because when you type the name of the game in the search bar, the game appears with its price.

This situation has been making access to demo versions quite difficult for a long time. Today, Valve shared a text called “Great Steam Demo Update” on the blog section of the popular video game platform and announced that access to the demo version will now be easier. Demo versions, which were previously located below the main game, above the DLC and versions, will now be offered on a separate page.

Since it is on a completely separate page, the versions that will appear as “Demo” or “Free” when you type the name of the game in the search bar will also be found on their own pages with demo version content. In other words, it will not include the main visuals of the game, but the features and details offered in the demo version. In addition, players’ comments specific to the demo will also appear in the store.

Another innovation on the demo side is adding the game to the library without installing it. As you know, until now, when you clicked on the demo version, the game would start downloading directly. Now, Steam, which will allow you to add the game to the library, will also send you mobile notifications and e-mails when the demo version of the game is released if you add games that have not yet been released to the list.

In addition to all these innovations, the platform, which has removed the demo version of very old games from its structure, also states that some versions may still be overlooked. What do you think about the innovations coming to Steam? You can express your ideas in the comments.
