Android 14 QPR3 won’t be released until June. But thanks to beta versions, we already know what the release will bring to the table. The second Android 14 QPR3 beta was released this week and it turns out that Windows’ annoying keyboard feature, sticky keys, is coming to Android.
How will sticky keys work on Android?
Android researcher Mishaal Rahman detailed the many changes, both big and small, coming with the new version. Among these features is support for sticky keys Android for physical keyboards.
With Android 14 QPR3, Google will increase support for external keyboards on smartphones, foldable devices and tablets. Future support includes accessibility-oriented keyboard settings commonly seen on Windows devices to help the physically disabled.
Simply put, sticky keys allow users to access buttons without holding them down. Enabling sticky keys allows users to access frequently used modifier keys like Shift/Ctrl/Alt without having to press them simultaneously.
