Microsoft held a livestream launch event on Wednesday. The company launched three new Microsoft Surface computers, updates to Windows 11, new AI platforms, and an Audio Dock. However, one of the most expected devices was the new Surface Pro 9. The new device launched with many features and options. Here are the details about Surface Pro 9.
Pro 9 coming with 12th Gen Intel Core and Snapdragon SQ3
Microsoft offers two options for the processor for the new computer. It comes with with a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U or a Core i7-1255U. The device is all Intel-powered. Additionally, the company launched an ARM version that is powered by the 5G Qualcomm SQ3 model. Storage options begin at 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
On the display side, the tech giant used a 13-inch PixeSense Flow display which supports 2880 x 1920, 3:2 aspect, and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is also available using the Surface Slim Pen 2. Microsoft added a place for the Pen to recharge and stow away right of the device.
While the new Pro 9 is coming with LPDDR5 RAM that has 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB options in the Intel model, the 5G Qualcomm SQ3 model comes with 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM options. The 5G model can be configured with up to 512GB of storage, meanwhile, the Intel model is available for up to 1TB.
The 5G model also comes with a Neutral Processing Unit (NPU), some new front camera features like Auto Framing, Super Resolution, and new noise-reduction features. The Intel model offers up to 15.5 hours of battery life whereas the 5G model offers up to 19 hours of battery.
If you would like to buy the new Pro 9, the Intel i5 model starts at $999 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Intel i7 version comes with a $1599 price tag while the 5G model comes with a $1299 beginning price. When you want a Type Cover keyboard, you need to pay $279 more.
